Lola Pacita died last Tuesday, a day after her 90th birthday. I hadn’t seen her for maybe over a year before that. She would probably have recognized me, even for a few minutes now and then, but then she hadn’t been lucid for quite awhile.
Tita Ada said Lola died at around 2 p.m. She’s going to be buried this Saturday at 9 a.m. I plan to go, of course, but I hope I get my money tomorrow. People are always dying on me at a time when I don’t have any money.
