Ever since I got this new computer, I've become such a hound for freeware. I work at home, or at least I try to whenever I'm not distracted trying to fix a bug in my computer because of some flashy new freeware I've installed.
I did find some useful stuff, like Richard Salsbury's RoughDraft, a word processor I liked so much I junked Word, along with the entire MS Office suite, which is just taking up a lot of hard disk space.
And then there's iDailyDiary, which I use for my real, offline diary. I mean real in the sense that I don't get conscious that anyone's going to read it. So I don't get into performance mode, although I'm used to doing that because I've been make a living writing for the past 18 years. To use the fancy title, I'm a journalist.
Which reminds me, I have to get my column finished before six.
